Dear sweet Alena...
Below is an e-mail I received from a dear friend of mine. We met in San Antonio. I guess reading her e-mail on Monday reminded me that, yes, we do live in a great nation, Alena never had an opportunity to vote for any other party but COMMUNIST...AMAZING. Excuse her broken English, she's only been in the U.S. for about 9 years. She is a sweet, caring woman, who would bring me slivovitsa any time I was sick, but I don't have time for that story!!!! God is still sovereign in our nation, don't forget.
Peace be with you all! I have received this from a good friend of mine, if you are interested, check it out. Hopefully it will be helpfull to you for upcoming elections. Since I don't vote, I will keep you all in my prayersto make the best decision for this country and please, do vote! Me growing up in Czechoslovakia we didn't have a chance to vote for any other party except Communist. To have a choice of different candidates and to vote is a great PRIVILAGE.
Sincerely Alena

I finally understand the whole thing about keeping up on the old blog...Where did the last 3 weeks go? I started working, and I'm sure that's part of the issue here. I am working Monday thru Friday from 11:30 to 1:30 serving lunch at an elementary school, it's a huge step to start working. I felt like it was the right time. I can now put Josiah in preschool. He asks to go to school almost every day, so he will love it, I'm sure...
Other News in the Kennedy Fam? Well, Sean's in Mexico working at the Rancho Santa Marta children's home for a few days, poor me! I wish I was there with him, but I got to go last time, so it was his turn. The man who runs the home will be so excited that a few real men with tools showed up this time. He wasn't too impressed in May when we took a van full of women to work at the home. I think Sean will return with some interesting tales, hopefully not about rattle snakes, but who knows?

wOw.....
You know like wOOOOw. That's wow, O.K., never mind. My computer has been down for a whole week...crazy!!!!! I was just catching up on my blog-reading, my favorite zone out, let the brain take a rest activity. I missed alot of information this last week...that sounded unemotional. It was not just information, it was personal struggles and down times and tears and dark clouds, many "downcast souls" as King David so eloquently phrased it. My blog sisters, please cheer up! These dark times will pass, you are in the care of a Mighty God...He will not allow you to be in this state forever. YOU, my blog sisters who are experiencing all shades of blue, will be written in my brand new prayer journal, so even though I might have gotten wind of your struggles late (due to my elderly computer), I will pray!!!!
The big news from the Kennedy house this week is that my eldest (does anyone use that word anymore) is 66". I know what you're thinking, "O.K., so now we're all going to start posting every time our kids grow an inch!" Well, I guess this is only monumental because it means that he is the same number of inches as his mother!!!!! There is just no way to prepare for moments like these when life just takes us by complete suprise. I wanted to tell the lady at the doctor's office to measure him again! It couldn't be right. IT WAS RIGHT! Well, Zachary William, I am still your mother, and I am still in charge, young man! Sorry, I just had to get that out of my system! He was laughing at Sean and I the other day because I had been accused of throwing him to a pack of wolves every day because he goes to public school. The person who made that accusation feels like you are not a Christian if your child goes to public school. I looked at Zach and said "Am I throwing you to a pack of wolves every day because you go to public school!?" He started to giggle and said, "No, mom, it's fun." If "public school" is such a bad place, why does he come home with a smile on his face almost every day? Please don't be offended if you homeschool or have your kids in private school. I feel very strongly that every child is an individual case, but in general, I believe that when my kids walk through that front door into their school, they are bringing Light with them because that is my prayer for them every morning! Well, I will sign off for tonight.

The Esther Anointing...
I believe in my heart that Sarah Palin is a modern-day Esther. She has an anointing and grace that could only come from God's heart. I believe that there is a battle in the heavenlies in our times, and I believe that God will use Sarah Palin to be an advocate for Christians everywhere. I think that her beauty is part of her Esther anointing. We are given certain gifts, talents, and even beauty for a reason. It's like people are drawn to her. Even liberals smile when they talk about Sarah Palin. You almost can't NOT like her. The presence of God is with her in a powerful way!!! As women who know what this campaign means for Sarah, the time, energy, and constant media pressures, I would like to call me fellow blog sisters to prayer any time God brings Sarah Palin to your mind. Even one sentence is powerful in the heavenlies...if you're doing dishes, and you're like "Lord, give Sarah Palin extra strength right now," it's done...that's how prayer works. Let's see the hand of God move in this election. God has brought this woman forth "for such a time as this."

I feel soooo... guilty.....
Why? Because I haven't even blogged about the first day of school, and all these people are blogging about these cute little stories of the first day of school, like going in and talking to teachers and shedding a tear. Basically, I loaded the boys up in the van and dropped them off with a friendly, "Bye, I love you sweetey! Have a great day". Then, off I drove to enjoy some peace and quiet at the little hacienda. So, what do you think of that my blog friends?

Aviators...
For those of you who are not up on the current fashions, these are aviators (the sunglasses). My nephew Andrew is on the left, Jesse is in the middle, Andrew's cousin Adri is on the right. Aren't they adorable? They're all the best of buds, and they had a blast together on the trip. I couldn't have asked for better boys to travel with.
3 Weeks!
I can't believe it's been almost three weeks since we left on our crazy adventure to Montana...we had an awesome time. 45 hours in the car was a little much at times but well worth the time spent with friends and family in Montana. Thank you all for your prayers and concern for mom and dad...they're doing great!. We got to hang out on mom's new front nook outside and sip coffee and chat. Mom and dad loved having the kids around, and the kids enjoyed being at grandma's so much that I almost had to leave a couple of them for a few months. I ended up taking 5 BOYS!!! I had my 3 boys, my nephew Andrew, and Andrew's cousin Adri, who is also like my nephew. It felt like I was running a boys' camp for the week, which was fine with me. We actually had morning and afternoon activities, and morning chores, and of course daily laundry. FUN, FUN, FUN!!! The best times of the day were swimming in the afternoon. There was a newly remodeled pool just a couple miles from mom's house where we could just drop the four boys for a couple of hours. That meant a little bit of peace and quiet in the afternoon. Thank you to all the friends and family in Montana who we got to spend a little bit of time with. It's so great to have friends who can just pick up where we left off.

Here's the three amigos...o.k., this was 2 years ago, but I wanted to share with you our big news, no I am not adopting my nephew, but that's what it sounded like when I say "big news", huh? The big news is that I will be loading these three precious angels and my other precious angel in a van and driving 1300 miles to Montana to see grandma and papa! Amazing, I know. Mom and dad have recently gone through one of the worst months in their lives, and we figure grandchildren therapy is always the best medicine. We will start out on Tuesday, August 5th. We will drive for two days. So, if there's never again another post from me, I lost my sanity along the way...just kidding, it's going to be awesome. The boys have millions of rubber bands. I found a huge bag of them for a dollar. That should keep them busy for all of what, one mile. Actually, I figure one rubber band ball each, and they should be busy for awhile. So, the weekend will be a flurry of excitement, and guess what, when I get to Montana, I will have recent pictures of my kids to share with you. So, I'm off to conquer the laundry beast, but love to you all...

Leland George Barrows...
O.K., I would like to dedicate my first day in blogland to my wonderful dad...he's the greatest in the world and is really the best candidate for this dedication. I cannot even begin to tell you how much fun he was to be around while growing up. One of my friends in middle school asked me if I could have my dad teach her dad how to be funny! I said, "Yes, for a small fee." Just kidding. The real reason I would like to dedicate my first day in blogland to dad is because he created the name for this blog, yes, Abernathyelizabethanne is a nickname given to me by Leland George Barrows, my adorable teddy-bear-like father! So, it's late, and my first post will be short, but rest assured all my blog friends, I have many words to share with you.
I am thrilled beyond words to get back in touch with all the friends I've accumulated around the planet (literally). We've lived in some really crazy places, and have made the best of friends everywhere we've been. I have to have a better way to keep in touch with everyone, and this seems to be it, the wonderful land of blogging!
